  • We are seeking an ambitious and self-motivated individual to join our sales team.

     

    Your role will be to promote and sell live lobster as well as processed, raw, frozen lobster – with a focus on the Asian market.

     

    You will be responsible for creating new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing clients.

     

    A large percentage of sales will be generated through contact with existing clients and cold calls to potential new customers.

     

    You will work within a team comprised of our Asian Business Development Representative and Logistics Coordinator and report to the President and General Manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Establish a global customer base
    • Communicate effectively and continuously over the phone
    • Build new customer relationships to increase sales
    • Develop long-term relationships with customers to maintain repeat business
    • Coordinate shipment of orders with Logistics Coordinator
    • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with products
    • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints
    • Organize sales presentations and attend trade shows in Asia and Europe to market new products
    • Maintain customer records
    • Submit weekly/monthly sales and activity reports

    Skills & Attributes

    • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, CRM)
    • Self-motivated, customer focused, result-oriented
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
    • Customer service and conflict resolution skills
    • Friendly, outgoing personality
    • Bilingualism (English/Chinese) would be considered an asset

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in a sales administration or marketing role
    • Experience working within a developed sales cycle with focus on CRM visuals
    • Proven track record in sales and building customer relationships
    • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours
    • Knowledge of the seafood industry is an asset

    Established in 1892, Gidney Fisheries continues the tradition of procuring, processing and delivering wild-caught, sweet Nova Scotian lobster.

    We buy our lobsters from local fishermen, which are certified sustainable through the Marine Stewardship Council.

    We then grade them to meet the highest of standards, process them in our modern high-pressure processing (HPP) facility and deliver them through efficient logistics to retail and food service industries.

  • We are seeking an ambitious and self-motivated individual to join our team to coordinate all aspects of our logistics requirements. 

     

    You will be responsible to plan, organize and oversee operational logistics for the Company.

     

    You will works as part of a time with our Asian Business Development Representative and Sales Associate and report to the President and General Manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordination of live and frozen lobster shipments globally
    • Coordinate closely with sales team to prepare invoices, schedule ground, air freight and container deliveries
    • Arrange with sales and procurement, coordinate orders, plan routes /sequences and book needed delivery appointments and process shipments
    • Data entry and preparation of shipping documents required by various government or other official offices such as export certificates and inventory release requests
    • Preparation and production of product labels
    • Resolve any arising problems or complaints (on-call status required)

     

    Skills & Attributes

    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and email
    • Organization and detail oriented
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast paced environment
    • Customer service and conflict resolution skills
    • Friendly, outgoing personality

     

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience in a logistics role
    • Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours
    • Seafood or food experience would be an asset
    • Ability to handle multiple projects
    • Possess a calm demeanour while working under pressure
